When Aafreen Kauser's first two children were out of their infancy, it was time for her to turn her dream into reality: creating something of her own. Within five years, this dream became a company with 18 employees and a customer base spread across the world.
Now 38 years old, Kauser was working as an online lecturer when she came up with her business idea. "At the end of each month, I always had to remind my students to transfer their fees," says the pharmacist, who was born in India and has lived in Wolfsburg since 2012. Together with her friend Yasmeen Thimiri—also from India and an IT engineer who lives in Qatar—she discussed ways to automate the monitoring of subscription payments.
In 2018, they developed the software, and in 2019, they launched a prototype for small businesses. Today, MYFUNDBOX has processed transactions worth more than 12 million euros and serves around 800 customers worldwide, most of them in Europe. As a subscription billing platform, MYFUNDBOX acts as an intermediary between online stores or businesses and payment systems like PayPal, Stripe, and GoCardless.
In the spring, MYFUNDBOX participated in the "German Accelerator – Germany Starts", an initiative by German Entrepreneurship GmbH, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. This program provides German startups with expertise and guidance for international expansion. The next goal for these entrepreneurs is expansion in the Mina region, and they are currently seeking investors for this venture.
The company is based in Wolfsburg, while Thimiri and the team operate from Qatar and India.
